Alstom: major contract in Western Australia

(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom announces that it has signed an 800 million euro contract with PTA, the public transport authority of Western Australia.
The contract is for the manufacture and maintenance of the new generation of C-Series trains for the Perth rail network, which is in the middle of being expanded.

The French industrial group will supply 41 six-carriage electric trains and two three-carriage diesel trains, as well as 20 years of maintenance for the electric trains and maintenance assistance services for the diesel trains.

The trains will be manufactured at the PTA assembly site in Bellevue, and delivered over a seven-year period beginning in 2022. The contract includes for the possibility of manufacturing an additional 30 trains, as well as two options of 5 + 5 years of maintenance.
