Alstom: dispatch of 1st trainset of Lusai tramway

(CercleFinance.com) - This Wednesday in a press release Alstom announced that it shipped the first trainset for the Lusail tramway from its plant in La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime).


The convoy will reach the port of Barcelona (Spain), from where it will then leave by boat for Doha.

This shipment follows the signing of a contract in 2014 with the Qatar Railway Company for the supply of a turnkey tramway system for a 4-line network at Lusail. This network will cross the Qatari metropolis, covering a distance of 22 kilometres, including 10 kilometres underground, and will have 28 stations. This first trainset is expected to arrive at destination next month.
