Alstom: signs contract for Chengdu Metro.

(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom has announced that it has signed a contract with the Chengdu Metro.


The contract covers the supply of traction systems for 496 metro carriages which will be used on the city's new metro line 5.

The contract is worth approximately 57 million euros. The line is scheduled for entry into commercial operation at the end of 2019.

Alstom will supply its OptONIX traction system, which has been especially designed and developed for the Chinese market.
