Engie: acquires hydroelectric portfolio in Portugal

(CercleFinance.com) - Engie and its consortium partners Crédit Agricole Assurances and Mirova, announce that they have won a tender launched by EDP for the acquisition of the second largest hydroelectric portfolio in Portugal.


Representing an enterprise value and a total of 2.2 billion euros, this hydroelectric portfolio has a production capacity of 1.7 GW with a weighted average residual concession term of 45 years.

Engie, which has a 40% interest in the consortium, will be in charge of the operation and management of the hydroelectric portfolio and will also provide energy management services. The transaction is expected to be closed in the second half of 2020.
