(CercleFinance.com) - A notice issued by the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) this morning has confirms that the State Investment Agency (APE), acting on behalf of the State, reduced its stake in Engie on 8 September.

In doing so, the State's holding has fallen below the thresholds of 30% of the group's voting rights and 25% of its capital.

On this date, and after an OTC sale of securities, the APE held 24.10% of Engie's capital and 28.07% of its voting rights, according to the AMF's notice.

For the record, at the beginning of the month, the French State announced that it had placed 4.1% of Engie's capital with institutional investors, as well as the sale of 0.46% of its own capital to Engie. This represents a total of 111 million shares.

The proceeds from this sale, which amount to 1.53 billion euros, roughly correspond to a unit sale price of 13.8 euros. The APE announced the closure of this deal on 5 September.
