Amundi: completes acquisition of Lyxor

(CercleFinance.com) - Amundi and Société Générale announce the completion of the acquisition of Lyxor, with Amundi acquiring the company from SG, with all necessary regulatory and competitive approvals having been obtained.


The transaction was completed for a total consideration of 825 million euros, two months ahead of schedule. As a major player in the ETF market in Europe, Lyxor has also developed expertise in active management, particularly through its liquid hedge fund platform.

For the record, Amundi and Société Générale entered into negotiations for this deal in April last year. At the time, Amundi said that it expected the acquisition to generate a return on investment exceeding 10% over a 3-year period (including cost synergies alone).
