Valneva: deeper losses in 2022

(CercleFinance.com) - Valneva has announced that it will make a net loss of 143.
3 million euros in 2022, almost double the loss of 73.4 million the previous year, along with negative adjusted EBITDA that rose from 47.1 million to 69.2 million euros.

The vaccine company says that in its operating loss of 113.4 million euros, the Covid-19 program contributed 42.8 million to the loss in 2022 after generating a 3.9 million euro profit in 2021.

However, total revenues rose 3.8% to 361.3 million euros, driven by an 82.3% jump in product sales thanks to the continued recovery of the travel market, as well as sales of the Covid-19 vaccine in Europe and Bahrain.

For 2023, Valneva says it expects total revenues of 220 to 260 million euros, with 130 to 150 million euros in product sales, including marginal sales of Covid-19 vaccine, and R&D expenses of 70 to 90 million euros.
