Orange: new experiments for 5G

(CercleFinance.com) - So as to actively prepare for the arrival of 5G, Orange has said that it has decided to conduct new large-scale experiments.

It will be a 4G/5G connectivity partner of UTAC CERAM, the French centre for testing and approving of autonomous vehicles.

Between mid-2018 and mid-2019 the operator will launch for the first time in France an end-to-end technical experiment in Lille and Douai, as well as a full-scale test of high speed internet access at home via 5G in Romania, in the second half of 2018.

Orange has also announced its partnership with Nokia and Kathrein for the design of a smart antenna that manages 4G/5G connectivity. This type of antenna has the advantage of being compact enough so as to be installed on existing mobile sites.
