Renault: increased synergies with Nissan and Mitsubishi

(CercleFinance.com) - Renault has announced annual synergies of 5.
7 billion euros for its alliance with Nissan and Mitsubishi, up 14% compared to 2016, benefiting from additional savings and income, as well as measures to cut costs.

Carlos Ghosn, group chairman and CEO said "We expect to generate growing synergies in coming years as the Alliance accelerates convergence through increased utilization of joint plants, common vehicle platforms, technology-sharing and our combined presence in mature and emerging markets. We reaffirm our synergy goal of more than E10 billion by the end of 2022."

The 2022 Alliance's medium-term strategic plan provides for cumulative annual sales of over 14 million vehicles. Nine million will be manufactured on four shared platforms and 75% will be equipped with common engines, against a third today.
