Eramet: Q1 sales up 2%

(CercleFinance.com) - Eramet has reported Q1 2018 sales of 870 million euros, up 2%, with its different divisions reporting contrasting evolutions in sales (+3% in manganese and +14% in nickel, although -6% in alloys).


The mining and metallurgical group highlights a sharp rise in the spot price of manganese ore and nickel in the first quarter of 2018, to levels well above those of early 2017 (respectively 28% and 29%).

Although Q1 sales cannot be extrapolated over the full-year, in a context of volatile metal prices, Eramet says that its markets remain upbeat at the beginning of the second quarter.
