Casino: Assaí market listing approved

(CercleFinance.com) - Casino has announced that its Brazilian subsidiary GPA has obtained authorisation for the listing of shares issued by Assaí on the Novo Mercado de la B3 SA in Brazil, followed by the listing of Assaí's American Depositary Securities (ADS) on the New York Stock Exchange.


These listings are in line with GPA's reorganisation and asset spin-off operations. Assaí shares, all of which are currently held by GPA, will be distributed to its shareholders on the basis of one Assaí share for one GPA share.

Assaí shares will begin trading, as will its ADS, on 1 March. At the end of this process of listing Assaí, Casino will still hold 41.3% of GPA's capital and an identical stake in Assaí.
