Plastic Omnium: to showcase innovations in Munich

(CercleFinance.com) - Plastic Omnium is showcasing a number of innovations and events at the IAA (Internationale Automobilausstellung), which is being held for the first time in Munich from 6 to 12 September.


Plastic Omnium and Greenerwave have joined forces to develop a new-generation 4D imaging radar. The new radar will be a decisive step forward in vehicles' detection of obstacles from 2025. The radar promises to detect the vehicle's environment at long range (up to 300m) and with a resolution ten times greater than that of current radars.

Plastic Omnium has also announced a new contract for zero-emission hydrogen engines. Korean carmaker Hyundai has chosen Plastic Omnium to supply storage systems for the future hydrogen-powered version of its recently launched Staria model. The hydrogen-powered version will be launched in 2023, with a production run of over 30,000 vehicles per year.
