Thales: leads SCOPS Project consortium

(CercleFinance.com) - Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), has announced that it is leading the SCOPS (Scalable COntroller for Power Sources) project consortium from Spain.


This project is part of the European Commission's Horizon Europe research and innovation program, one of the pillars of which is European autonomy in space.

While the European space industry is currently dependent on non-European countries such as the US, where most ASICs (application-specific mixed-signal integrated circuits) are produced, the aim of SCOPS is to provide the European space community with a scalable control system for power sources - in other words an ASIC that will enable several power sources to be controlled at the same time.
