Thales: the operator Sateliot to call on Space Alliance

(CercleFinance.com) - The telecommunications operator Sateliot will call on the Space Alliance, formed from Thales Alenia Space and Telespazio for the development of a constellation of nano-satellites designed to guarantee the compatibility of IoT connectivity with the 5G standard.


The satellites in this constellation will act as orbital base stations for telecommunications - the project calls for 16 satellites from 2022 and up to 96 by 2025 for an investment of approximately 100 million euros.

The satellites will enable the deployment of IoT services in sectors as diverse as maritime transport, logistics, energy, food processing, infrastructure and environmental monitoring.
