Thales: signs contract with Egypt's Nilesat

(CercleFinance.com) - Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), announces the signature of a contract with the Egyptian operator Nilesat to build the geostationary telecommunications satellite Nilesat-301.


Nilesat-301 will support the Nilesat-201 mission for Ku-band services in the Middle East and North Africa.

Nilesat-301 will also contribute to extending the provision of telecommunication services and direct digital broadcasting in these same frequencies for two new large African regions.

It will also provide Ka-band broadband connectivity services throughout Egypt.
