Thales: new systems for three European navies

(CercleFinance.com) - Thales says that it will equip the Belgian, Portuguese and Royal Dutch Navy forces with new, more modern and better secured friend/foe identification systems to obtain a picture of tactical situations in real time.


The upgrading of the latest NATO standard systems will give the Marines the ability to perform military missions in conditions of optimum safety, reliability and integrity, with the possibility of always and better identifying civilian aircraft.

The platforms will be fully operational from 2020. Out of its eight M frigates, the Royal Dutch Navy has sold two to the Belgian Navy and two to the Portuguese Navy, which takes into account the imperatives of these three countries.
