Thales: merger with Gemalto authorised by Canada

(CercleFinance.com) - Thales and Gemalto announced on Thursday that they have obtained the regulatory authorisation regarding foreign investments in Canada from the Canadian minister of Innovation regarding these two groups' planned merger.


"Together with the anti-trust clearance obtained in China and Israel, and clearance relating to foreign investments in Australia, Thales and Gemalto have obtained 4 of the required 14 Regulatory Clearances," the companies said in a joint press release.

The deal is set to be completed shortly after obtaining approval from all regulatory authorisations, which is expected by the end of 2018.
