Faurecia: inaugurates new R&D centre in China.

(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday Faurecia inaugurated its new China and Asia-Pacific R&D centre in Shanghai, according to mid-afternoon reports.


This structure of over 45,000 square metres is located in the EUREKA industrial park in Minhang. It reinforces Faurecia Clean Mobility's innovation capacity, particularly for commercial vehicles, which will be subject to new regulations from 2020, and which will require breakthrough technologies in terms of reducing emissions.

Faurecia will employ 620 employees on this site, including 350 engineers, who will have state-of-the-art equipment to develop zero emission technologies for passenger cars and commercial vehicles.

The automotive supplier currently employs 17,000 people in China, including 1,000 engineers, and operates 48 plants and 4 R&D centres.
