Sanofi: starts Covid-19 test outside the US
(CercleFinance.com) - Sanofi announces that a first patient outside the United States has been treated as part of the global clinical trial program evaluating Kevzara (sarilumab) in the management of patients hospitalised with severe COVID-19.
This is the second multi-center, double-blind, Phase II/III trial as part of the Kevzara COVID-19 program. Its launch follows the announcement earlier this month of the initiation of the first trial (US-based). "Kevzara inhibits IL-6, which may play a role in driving the inflammatory immune response that causes acute respiratory distress syndrome observed in patients with severe COVID-19 infection," Sanofi said.
