Bouygues: contracts for two road tunnels in Hong Kong

(CercleFinance.com) - Bouygues announces that the Hong Kong government has awarded Bouygues Travaux Publics with contracts for the construction of two road tunnels on the Kowloon Peninsula: the Central Kowloon Route Tunnel (CKR) and the Trunk Road T2.


These contracts are part of the construction of a new highway called Route 6, which will provide a fast east-west link between the west of Kowloon and the town of Tseung Kwan O, hence relieving existing road congestion in central Kowloon.

Work on the first contract, worth 364 million euros, has already begun, for commissioning that is expected by 2025. Work for the second contract, amounting to 756 million euros, will start by the end of the year, for an expected commissioning by 2026.
