TotalEnergies: Orcas project in Scotland

(CercleFinance.com) - TotalEnergies, Offshore Wind Power Limited (OWPL) and the Scottish developer Renewable Infrastructure Development Group (RIDG), today announced that they are investigating the use of offshore wind energy for the production of green hydrogen on an industrial scale on the island of Flotta in Orkney, Scotland.


This project will be able to supply renewable energy to a green hydrogen production facility at the Flotta terminal.

TotalEnergies says that it is convinced of the potential of offshore wind to produce green hydrogen and support our companies' ambition to become net zero. With our West of Orkney wind farm project, we have the opportunity to power one of the world's first green hydrogen production units in Orkney.
