Total: agreement with Ignis for solar energy in Spain

(CercleFinance.com) - Total has announced an agreement with the Spanish developer Ignis to develop 3.
3 gigawatts (GW) of solar projects near Madrid and in Andalusia, enabling the energy giant to strengthen its position in the Spanish electricity market.

The first projects in the Ignis portfolio are scheduled to start up in 2022, with the aim of bringing them all on stream by 2025. Total will pay compensation to Ignis as the projects develop.

This operation brings its portfolio of solar projects under development in Spain to over 5 GW by 2025. This solar electricity portfolio will enable Total to cover all the electricity consumption of its industrial sites in Europe by 2025.
