Total: update on CO2ment project

(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday Total provided an update on the CO2ment project recently launched by Svante, LafargeHolcim and Total at the Lafarge Richmond cement plant in Canada.


Total said that the next phase to study the project's feasibility, which is about to begin, will develop the design of the device designed to capture, use and store two million tonnes of carbon dioxide each year.

The device being studied will use Svante's solid adsorbent technology to capture the carbon directly in the cement kiln as a non-intrusive 'end-of-line' solution.
