Total: Iara project starts production

(CercleFinance.com) - Total announces the start of production of the Iara project (block BM-S-11A), a block located in the deep waters of the pre-salt basin of Santos, including the Sururu, Berbigão and Oeste de Atapu fields.


This is the start of the first of two floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) units, the second to begin production in 2020. Each FPSO has a processing capacity of 150,000 barrels of oil per day .

Total acquired a 22.5% stake in the BM-S-11A block on 12 January 2018, becoming a partner of the operator Petrobras (42.5%), Shell Brasil Petróleo (25%) and Petrogal Brasil (10%).
