Total: production started on Culzean field

(CercleFinance.com) - Total announces that it has started production on the Culzean gas-condensate field, which is found 230 kilometres from Aberdeen in the British North Sea, a field that the French group operates with a 49.
99% stake, alongside BP (32%) and JX Nippon (18.01%).

The Culzean field, which has a production plateau of 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d), accounts for 5% of gas consumption in the UK. It contains resources estimated at between 250 million and 300 million barrels of oil equivalent.

"The Culzean project is delivered ahead of schedule and more than 10% below the initial budget, which represents Capex savings of more than 500 million dollars," said Arnaud Breuillac, President Exploration & Production at Total.
