Total: Ichthys LNG project starts up

(CercleFinance.com) - Total announces that the Ichthys project, in which it has a 30% stake, has reached a major milestone, with the first offshore well starting production.
This marks the start to operations at this gas and condensate field, which are set to last an estimated forty years.

Total said that, “At full capacity, the offshore facilities are expected to produce 1,600 mmscfd of gas (285,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day) and 85,000 barrels of condensate per day.”

This gas will supply an onshore plant with a capacity of 8.9 million tonnes of LNG per year for the Asian market, producing approximately 1.65 million tonnes p.a. of LPG and an additional 15,000 barrels of condensate per day.
