Air Liquide: modernises two ASU in China

(CercleFinance.com) - Air Liquide announces that it will invest around E60m to modernise two air separation units (ASUs) that the French industrial group operates in the Tianjin industrial basin in China.


This modernisation plan is part of the renewal of a long-term industrial gas supply contract with Tianjin Bohua Yongli Chemical Industry Co Ltd (YLC), a subsidiary of the Bohua Group.

Air Liquide will adapt these ASUs to run on electric power instead of steam, which will significantly reduce CO2 emissions related to the production of oxygen and other gases.

In addition, the Group has signed a triparty MoU with YLC and the Tianjin Binhai Industrial Zone to, amongst other things, explore the implementation of carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) solutions.
