Air Liquide: signs biggest renewable energy contract

(CercleFinance.com) - Air Liquide has signed its largest long-term renewable energy purchase agreement (PPA) in the world to date, with Vattenfall in the Netherlands.

This contract concerns an offshore wind capacity that is under construction of approximately 115 MW. The contract will last for 15 years and is set to start up in 2025.

The renewable energy supplied by Vattenfall will be generated by the Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) offshore wind farm.

This agreement will enable Air Liquide to cover over 30% of the group's current electricity consumption in Benelux. Over its term, this contract will avoid the emission of up to 3.5 million tonnes of CO2, which is comparable to the emissions of over 150,000 Dutch households.
