Air Liquide: to invest in carrier gases

(CercleFinance.com) - Having had a record 2017 in Asia for its electronics businesses, winning major new contracts, Air Liquide has announced that it will invest over 150 million euros to supply ultra-pure carrier gases to its customers' new fabs.


Carrier gases such as ultra-pure nitrogen are critical to the high tech semiconductor industry. These gases are used directly in the chip and display manufacturing processes as well as to maintain an ultra-clean atmosphere to protect manufacturing tools.

The French industrial gas specialist will therefore invest in the construction of high-performance on-site production systems for ultra-pure nitrogen, representing a total capacity of 170,000 Nm³/h.
