Safran: delivers 1000th A320neo nacelle to TAP Portugal

(CercleFinance.com) - Safran Nacelles has announced the delivery of its one-thousandth A320neo nacelle to TAP Air Portugal, which "underscores the company's important Tier 1 supplier role in the fastest production ramp-up ever for a civil aircraft".


The company has full responsibility for the design of A320neo nacelles powered by LEAP-1A engines from CFM International (a 50/50 joint venture between Safran Aircraft Engines and GE), which also includes their integration into engines.

In April 2016, Safran Nacelles delivered the first A320neo nacelle to Airbus; in 2018, the company produced 440 units, a figure that is expected to increase further to exceed the threshold of 700 p.a. by 2020.
