Safran: to build a new plant in India

(CercleFinance.com) - The Safran group announced on Tuesday the upcoming construction of a plant in India, dedicated to the production of CFM International LEAP engine parts, which will be installed in Hyderabad.


Safran will invest 36 million euros for the installation of this new plant of 13,000 m2, including workshop area of 8,000 m2. The plant's construction is scheduled to begin in June 2019, for first deliveries of parts in early 2020. 300 people will work there when complete.

When the site reaches full capacity in 2023, it will be able to deliver over 15,000 parts a year to support the high level of LEAP engine production, the group said.
