Safran: go-ahead from Commission for Morpho.

(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has approved the planned acquisition of Morpho, a provider of identity and security solutions based in France, by the US company Advent International.

This authorisation is subject to Morpho selling its smart card business in France.

Morpho, which belongs to the Safran Group, provides identity and security solutions, while the buyer Advent International is a private equity company. It controls Oberthur, which manufactures smart cards and provides digital security services.
