Ubisoft: takes over 1492 Studio

(CercleFinance.com) - Ubisoft announced after trading on Wednesday that it has taken over 1492 Studio, a game development that is specialised in the creation of episodic and interactive free-to-play stories on mobile phones.


Founded in 2014, with its headquarters near Montpellier (Hérault), 1492 Studio created the successful mobile franchise "Is it Love?", a series of interactive romantic stories in which player choices affect the story, their experiences and relationships with characters in the game.

Ubisoft expects that this acquisition, which was finalised on Wednesday will be immediately accretive.

The financial terms of this deal were not disclosed.
