Eurofins: launch new GSD Novatype kit

(CercleFinance.com) - Eurofins Technologies, a subsidiary of Eurofins Scientific, has announced the launch of its GSD NovaType II, its improved RT-PCR kit for the identification of mutations associated with variants of SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for Covid-19.


This new kit can now detect the N501Y and E484K mutations common to most variants of concern and the K417N mutation (specific to B.1.351 identified for the first time in South Africa), with a high degree of sensitivity.

The group said that the NovaType II GSD kit provides results in less than two hours. It is therefore well suited for timely screening and relieving sequencing capacity for epidemiological studies.
