Air France-KLM: reduces quarterly net loss

(CercleFinance.com) - Air France-KLM has reported a net loss of -1.
48 billion euros for the first quarter of 2021, representing an improvement of 320 million euros compared to Q1 2020, while it posted an operating loss of 1.18 billion euros, which is 364 million euros worse than a year ago.

The airline suffered an EBITDA loss of 0.6 billion euros, which was somewhat mitigated by strict cost control and national part-time working schemes, on revenues of 2.2 billion euros, down 57% on last year's level.

Due to continuing travel restrictions, the group expects the start of the second quarter to be similar to the first quarter, with customer booking behaviour still geared towards the short term.
