Air France-KLM: Benjamin Smith appointed CEO

(CercleFinance.com) - Air France-KLM has announced that at its board of directors meeting on 16 August it was decided to appoint Benjamin Smith as the group's new CEO.
He was previously Airlines President and chief operating officer at Air Canada.

“He has played a major role at Air Canada over the past two decades, where he has been a key player in the airline's economic and commercial development, its transformation, its value creation and the engagement of the teams,” the group stated.

Benjamin Smith will take office by 30 September and will have the priority of revitalizing Air France. The board also decided that, as soon as possible, he will take over executive management of Air France-KLM, with the full backing of the French state.
