Kone: wins escalator, elevator order for Australia tower

(CercleFinance.com) - Finnish lift maker Kone said on Wednesday that it has won an order for elevators and escalators for a beachfront tower in Australia's Gold Coast.
The terms of the deal were not provided.

Meriton's first beachfront tower located in the so-called "Surfers Paradise" will rise to 75 stories and will be home to both luxury residential and hotel suites, Kone said.

It will also have cafes and local shops.

Kone will provide 110 escalators and high-speed elevators travelling at speeds of up to seven metres per second, it said.
