Nokia: selected to power Grand Paris Express

(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia today announced that Société du Grand Paris (SGP) will deploy its 5G-ready multiservice, mobile core and radio access network (RAN) solutions to support the implementation of four automated train lines connecting 200 kilometres around Paris, with up to two million passengers per day.


The Grand Paris Express, the future metro of Greater Paris, is the largest metro rail project in Europe.

With 200 kilometres of rail network, the project includes the creation of four new lines around Paris, the extension of line 14, the creation of 68 new metro stations and the development of new districts around these future urban centres.

For passengers, the new communication system promises higher levels of service, with intuitive ticketing and improved updates.
