Nokia: completes AI network testing with China Mobile

(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia said that it has successfully completed a live trial of an AI-powered radio access network (RAN) over China Mobile's network.


Utilizing the Chinese telecom carrier's 4G and 5G networks, the companies have completed an AI-based real-time user equipment traffic bandwidth forecast trial in Shanghai, Nokia said.

The test confirmed that AI-based real-time user equipment traffic prediction accuracy exceeds 90%, it noted.

Nokia said it has also successfully piloted 4G and 5G fixed wireless access network slicing with Saudi Arabian telecommunications services provider Mobily.

The project will enable slicing per application, including voice, data, online gaming and home office application, the Finnish company said.

Nokia also announced on Thursday that it has launched 5G services with Australian mobile operator Optus at a new stadium in Perth, providing visitors attending sporting or music events with fast 5G coverage.
