Nokia: forms 5G pact with Google Cloud

(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia said on Thursday that it will work with Google Cloud, a division of Alphabet, to develop new solutions that will help communications service providers deliver 5G services.


The Finnish company and Google's cloud business said that they plan to bring together Nokia's 5G operations services and networking capabilities with Google's AI, machine learning and analytics.

The partnership will be based on Anthos, Google's cloud technology that lets customers use applications across public and private cloud services.

Anthos will serve as the platform for deploying applications, enabling phone carriers to build an ecosystem of services, the companies said.

As part of the collaboration, Nokia will supply its voice core, cloud packet core, network exposure function, data management, signaling, and 5G core, including a pack which enables automated, zero-touch activation and allows for remote management of IoT devices.
