Nokia: picks Canadian startup in innovation challenge

(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia said on Friday that the Canadian startup HaiLa - which specialises in industrial automation - has won its 2019 innovation challenge.


This means that HaiLa will be awarded 100,000 dollars in funds and will be granted access to researchers and product development teams at Nokia and Nokia Bell Labs to grow its business.

Montreal-based HaiLa offers technologies that can reduce energy consumption for Internet of Things devices.

HaiLa beat more than 200 other startups from 70 countries. The German startup Wandelbots - which enables anyone to program any robot via smart devices - finished second.
