Nokia: names mobile networks head as new COO.

(CercleFinance.com) - Finnish telecoms gear maker Nokia on Monday appointed Joerg Erlemeier as chief operating officer (COO), who previously served as COO of its mobile networks unit.


With immediate effect, Erlemeier will report to Nokia's CEO Rajeev Suri, replacing Monika Maurer, who will leave to pursue new opportunities elsewhere.

Erlemeier has over 20 years' experience in various positions in Nokia, including heading the Middle East and Africa region; leading services in Asia-Pacific and Japan and North America.

He most recently served as COO of the group's mobile networks business group.

He will also join Nokia's management team, which will now have 15 members.
