Nokia: wins broadband project in rural Poland.

(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia has been selected to build an advanced fiber optic network to deliver broadband services to homes and schools in 12 under-served regions of Poland.


The project, based on Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) technology, will deliver speeds of 100 megabits per second (Mbps) to over 400,000 homes and approximately 2,500 schools in the country's rural provinces.

Nokia has won the tender from the Polish government in collaboration with Infracapital, the infrastructure arm of M&G Investments.

Capital expenditure for this project is expected to reach approximately 300 million euros.
