Telefonica: wins rights to Spain's LaLiga football league

(CercleFinance.com) - Telefonica has won the rights to broadcast Spain's LaLiga football league matches for the seasons 2019-2022 for a price of 980 million euros for each of the three seasons.


The Spanish telecoms group has been provisionally declared winner of the tender to acquire the rights to broadcast all the paid LaLiga matches in the residential market, it said.

The annual net cost of the rights is more than 5% lower than in the last season of the previous (2016-2019) cycle, the group said.
