IAG: places firm orders for 14 Airbus A320neo aircraft

(CercleFinance.com) - British Airways owner International Airlines Group (IAG) said on Thursday it has decided to exercise options for 14 Airbus A320neo aircraft for delivery in 2024 and 2025.


The airline is converting 14 A320neo family options, announced in 2013, into firm orders for 11 A320neos and three A321neos, it said.

IAG already converted eight A320neo options in March 2022 for six A320neos and two A321neos.

These aircraft will be used to replace A320ceo family aircraft in the short-haul fleet, the company said.

IAG also noted that these modern, more fuel-efficient jets will bring both cost efficiencies and environmental benefits.
