Siemens Gamesa: plans to build nacelle factory

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Gamesa has announced plans to build a major offshore nacelle manufacturing facility in New York State, provided that the company's wind turbines are selected by New York authorities in their third offshore wind tender.


The facility would be located in Coeymans Harbor and would directly create about 420 jobs.

Siemens Gamesa says that New York plans to seek a minimum of 2 GW of offshore wind power, and up to 4.7 GW in this third procurement round to reach a total of 9 GW of offshore wind power.
