Siemens Gamesa: named supplier for German North Sea project

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Gamesa, the world's third largest wind turbine maker, is to supply 11 offshore wind power plants in the German North Sea, the company said on Wednesday.


Danish energy company Orsted has conditionally named Siemens Gamesa as the preferred turbine supplier for two offshore wind power projects with total capacity of 1.1 gigawatts.

At both sites, Siemens Gamesa will deploy its new offshore wind turbines with 200-metre rotors, in a five-year service and maintenance agreement included in the preferred supplier award.

A total of approximately 1.2 million German households will be served by the projects once operational, in 2024 and 2025.
