Siemens Gamesa: wins wind farm contract in Egypt

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Gamesa has announced the construction of the 250 MW West Bakr wind farm project in the Gulf of Suez, which owned by the company Lekela.


The project will generate 1,000 GWh per year and will increase Egypt's wind energy capacity by 18%.

The group will install 96 SG 2.6-114 turbines under a turnkey contract, and will have a 15-year maintenance deal. Deliveries will start in mid-2020 and the project will be fully operational in 2021.
