Siemens Gamesa: wins record US offshore wind power order

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Gamesa won a record order to supply wind turbines for three offshore wind power projects, which the Spanish-based engineering company said was the largest U.
S. offshore wind power order to date.

The 1.7 GW conditional contract awarded by Danish energy company Orsted and U.S. utility Eversource includes three projects located in the U.S. Northeast, spanning from New York to Rhode Island, the group said.

The projects are expected to go online between 2022-2024, subject to final investment decision.

The shares of Siemens Gamesa were up 3.8% on the news in Madrid.
