Siemens Gamesa: US offshore wind turbine delivery contract

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Gamesa and Danish partner Ørsted have signed a contract to supply wind turbines for an offshore wind project located 27 miles off the coast of Virginia, the companies said on Thursday.


The Siemens Gamesa blades provided in the project will be produced at the company's plant in Aalborg, Denmark, and the nacelle assemblies will originate from Germany.

The turbine components will then be installed by Ørsted, with deliveries expected to begin in mid-2020.
